  • 01/04/14--02:06: Resolve to be Useful
  • I’ve been noticing the conversation “out there” about resolutions. The tide seems to be shifted away from resolutions (argument: they don’t work) and towards something else. The something else isn’t well articulated. Here is my two cents: Humans are part of a cyclical planet. Cycles have pulsation. Resolve is part of the pulsation. If we […]

What is the Detox Opportunity for the Skinny Yogini? Detox is a concentrated time where we try new habits on. Changing habits is hard. During a detox we change a lot of habits all at once. These habit changes aren't meant to be sustainable. The shift is a Great Leap Forward. We have a great leap. A massive reset. And from this new seat we decide that which is worth maintaining in the day to day. Listen to the video where Beth and I uncover the opportunity for her to reset her physiology in tune with the rest she needs. We work out an easy plan for her to use the yogidetox to reset:

  • 05/06/15--14:19: Who are you becoming?
  • Awhile back I had a coach who encouraged me to invoke the person I wanted to become. When we have an evolutionary perspective of who we are we get that we are always present and we are always becoming. It’s the becoming part of us that desires growth, and is aligned to change, that craves […]

But, here is the crux: to actually automate this habit that we’ve never had, we need to let it change us. We need to tap into our own plasticity of form. Think “Plasticman”. We need to be shape-shiftable enough to become that person who has that habit. For example, you’ll recall my new goal is to Stick to a work plan in 2016 that reaches my goals. My new habit is Spend the first 10 minutes of my work day reviewing my weekly plan and planning my day.

  • 05/31/16--02:00: Meditate with a Partner
  • You may have heard that meditation will help your relationship. Meditation makes you more present, more aware, more curious, more efficient, more available, more resilient, more skillfully communicative, flexible in how you show up and respond, more empathic (aka “nicer to hang with), smarter, more intuitive, less afraid, and more ethical. (For research see here.) Obviously, any one of those side benefits to meditation would drastically improve your relationship with yourself first, and with your partner second. But, know that when you become a meditator, all of these side benefits...

In today’s podcast I talk with Jen Churchill and the tidal wave of change she created. I also...

The habits of yogis are based on biohacking. The yogis needed mental clarity for spiritual attainment. To achieve this mental clarity, they found out that optimizing how their bodies functioned was key. All systems needed some upgrading, from the most mundane like taking a great poop in the early morning to deep-tissue hydration and lubrication, to refined nutrient absorption and tissue formation, to sound rest and cellular repair. When the physical body is optimized, the mind becomes clear, the emotions become loving, and from this ground our are more...

On today’s podcast with Alex Biondo, we look at how long it takes to dial in our Ayurvedic habits and why it’s important that we create these lifelong routines for ourselves. Many of us who participate in detoxes, cleanse groups, or my Body Thrive group, know what it is like to experience the light, clear, balanced feelings that come from eating cleanly and taking care of our bodies on physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual levels. Slow down. Pause. Take a deep breath. Ask yourself, “What do I need right now?” Notice how much more present, centered, and in touch with yourself you feel. Sometimes we move so quickly through life that we forget to take the time to enjoy deep, calming breaths…. And they are so important!
